I have been recording, editing, and sharing this podcast for over 3 years. In the course of that time, I have seen quite the shift in how podcasts are perceived, produced, and consumed. With over 250,000 other choices out there for listeners, how can you stand out from the crowd?
Being a thought leader does not mean that you simply follow the pack, but you often have to take the road less traveled.
I prefer the podcast to the trendy Facebook (or other platforms) live video because it's evergreen, searchable, and gets in the ears of your audience. It can be consumed in cars, walking the dog, on the treadmill and so many other places that video and reading become less desirable or convenient.
There are 5 main components to producing a successful podcast
- A Stand Alone Website
- Software to Stream and Analyze
- Recording & Editing
- Posting To Your Website and Itunes or Google Play Feed
- Promoting To Get Listeners
In this episode, I will discuss the benefits and some of the negatives of starting and managing your own podcast. Even if you can't or don't want to create your own, it will give you some insight as to whats involved for those shows you can get interviewed on!
