Episode 420 – How To Build An Effective Content Marketing Strategy

You can drive in a nail with a screwdriver… and you can pound in a screw with a hammer… but why would you? Often times that’s they way people treat marketing. They tend to push the kind marketing messages, on the platforms that appeal to them most. Email, Social Media, Video, and Podcasts (like this one) are all viable was to distribute messages, but are your messages targeted enough even when distributed on multiple platforms?

Systems like the DISC or Myers-Briggs allow people to profile people based on the way they communicate. What kind of communications or personality traits does your audience have?

Dominance – Results – Quick Action
Influence – Enthusiasm – Collaboration
Steadiness – Security – Create Stability
Conscientiousness – Quality – Accuracy
In this episode, we will discuss How you can use CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems, to help target the same message, in a slightly targeted more fashion. And… we do this by discussing Toilet Paper Marketing!

Episode 419 – Creating Better Business Relationships Using Nimble with Shannon Eckroth

Back in the day when MySpace was all the rage, my friends obsessed over profile pictures and sharing memes while I geeked out for hours learning how to code new backgrounds and analyzing what actions got the most reaction from people.

Fast forward a few years later and I’m sitting at the startup, LinkedIn in Sunnyvale, CA helping them recruit their first accounting department. All the while getting the best digital education a girl could ask for.

And since then?

I’ve taught over 200 workshops and tried just about every digital strategy out there to sell socially and experimented with every marketing software, app and playbook I could find. If you need to do it, I’ve probably done it, failed at it and figured out 3 to 4 other ways to accomplish it.

I’m always here to help and most business owners have a question or two they just can’t seem to figure out. I’m that needle in a haystack that probably has an answer and if I don’t, I welcome the challenge to add another skill to my toolbox once I figure it out!

Nimble is the simple CRM offering browser widget and mobile-based sales force automation and is a social CRM solution for small and midsize businesses. The solution automatically populates customer profiles and interaction histories from contact lists, email conversations and social media activity across a range of popular platforms including LinkedIn.

As Nimble’s Channel Partner Advisor, it is my responsibility to work with Cloud Service Providers and Microsoft Partners to get the best out of the software for their own business and help them market the product to their own prospects and clients.

Episode 414 – Want More Social Engagement? Have Fun With It!

I hear it all the time… “How do I get more engagement on social media?”. It’s easier than you think… Just have fun with it!

It takes a little more than just selling your stuff all the time. You know those people? They spend 100% of their efforts trying to convince people to buy their crap.. but Girls (and boys) just wanna have FUN! That is especially true in today’s divisive, and politically charged landscape on social media. The posts that tend to stand out, and get the most engagement are those with jokes, memes, funny pictures, and quotes.

There are three basic types of posts that I think you need to consider as part of your total online marketing plan…

Episode 412 – The Big Lie That Limits Your Business Growth?

Many business owners and marketers are living a lie. Too often they say to themselves “If I Could Just…”. We think that we are missing just one piece of the puzzle or we are just one or two techniques away from an economic windfall. Reality is, that we are often multiple mistakes away. Think about what Einstein, Edison, and Steve Jobs had to go through before they obtained success?

The big truth is that you have to be in it for the long term if you want to see long-term success. Here is what you need to know…

Episode 410 – Why Your Story Matters? Marketing Is Easy and Strategy Is Hard!

Marketing is the process of composing brand messages, delivering those messages, and measuring those results. A strategy is a bit more complex. It has multiple angles and can have multiple goals depending on what you want to achieve.

Most strategies are built around generating sales (which is good), but often people try to bypass the process taking the time to tell your story or convince people to stay in the loop until they are READY to make a purchase from you.
