Episode 472 – The Anatomy of the Perfect Social Media Post

Would you take a flight knowing that it was ONLY running on autopilot? Why would you try to do that with your social media posts? Ever platform has a different audience, but more importantly, a different ecosystem for posts. They vary in picture size, text amounts, hashtags or no hashtags, and more!

I use Canva.com (both the free and paid for versions) to create stunning (scroll stopping) graphics. The paid for version lets you resize and reuse your designs.
Graphics are the key to getting attention, but often the meat (BACON) of the message is in the text. Limits range from 280-2000 characters (not words). How you format and use that limited messaging resource is paramount to the effectiveness of your messaging!

In this episode, I will discuss how to maximize Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest (and touch on Instagram). I wall also give you three DO & DON’T tips to help you get the most out of your social media posts!

If you want people to fly your content airline… Let them know that you are piloting the plane!

Episode 470 – How To Make Your Content Marketing Messages More Memorable!?

In the last episode, I interviewed Jane Atkinson about public speaking as a tool for your business. In that Interview she mention that she like to create keynote speeches that start with a story, make three memorable points, and then close with another story. I Thought that was The Perfect Content Strategy, so I wanted to explore that concept a bit further.

I suggest you keep your posts short and to the points (3-5 to be exact). You should also use some memorable hooks that are esy to remember and repeat. Kind of like the ear worm a good song hook or chorus has!

Here are some techniques I have used and the may help you…

Episode 466 – 6 Ways You Need To Perfect Your LinkedIn Profile

When it comes to online marketing and social media, people tend to engage from emotion, but buy for benefits. LinkedIn is no different (sort of). It’s different than any other social platform because it’s more professionally based. That means what works on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others, may or may not work on LinkedIn. Linkedin differs because the audience is used to the corporate environment. They appreciate training, information, and whatever helps them in their professional careers and business. It does not have to be stodgy. Just the opposite, it should be creative, just not as casual (no posting of cat videos and memes).

Episode 454 – Start Treating LinkedIn Like Tinder… Make Your Profile Swipe Stopping

What if you started treating Linkedin like the dating app Tinder? Tinder allows users to like (swipe right) or dislike (swipe left) other users, and allows users to chat if both parties liked each other in the app. LinkedIn can be like a Business Dating app where people are more than just a pretty face. Relationships take time, commitment and a plan. You need to approach LinkedIn connections as if you are meeting and reacting to someone in person. It’s easy to hide behind a screen and a profile (like people do on dating apps), but it can come back to haunt you if you are not forthright!

Episode 452 – Why Social Media Is A Bet You Can’t Win… What You Can Do About It?

People tend to think of social media posting as free advertising, and it some senses it is. I tend to look at it from a business sense as a gamble. It’s more like a casino filled with loud and bright shiny neon slot machines calling out to you to drop in a dollar or two and hope that luck will be a lad tonight?Social Media Is kinda like the  bright shiny Slot Machine of Marketing

Episode 444 – 5 Myths About Online Marketing That Need To Be Busted

I had the pleasure of meeting with a new client and their social media team. They wanted to boost engagement on their social media to boost sales. They looked puzzled when I started talking websites and emails? Social media can often be the bright shiny object that distracts for the ultimate goal… MORE SALES! There…

Episode 438 – What Can You Do With Your Linkedin Connections?

I am sorry to say that if you have made a New Years Resolution, there is an 80% chance at this point it’s already failed. There is a false narrative that it takes 21 days to form a new habit? But, on average, it takes about 66 days before a new behavior becomes automatic.

When it comes to Linked In, chances are you have lots of connections and little action. You also probably have those connections on other social media, in your phone, Quickbooks, and more!

When it comes to Linkedin connections, it’s like a match. It takes a spark to light them, but a flame to reuse them in a way that can actually help you create new business. Here are 3 things that most people can do with their LinkedIn connections…

Episode 436 – 5 Main Reasons Why Marketing May Be Failing You?

People often treat marketing like the lottery… All you need to do is SCRATCH & WIN! That was easy? But in reality, if you just play the lottery, you will ultimately loose more than you win. The games are designed not to make you rich, but to make money for the lottery or gambling organization. Few get lucky, so may try and fail.

There are those rare occasions where people figure out a strategy to legally beat the system. Marketing is a lot like the lottery. Once you figure out the formula, you can start to make more money than you spend (a profit). But, there are some basic things that people miss or try to skip over to claim their winnings that hinder their success:
