In 1986, “Back To The Future II” predicted what life would be like in 2015. They got a lot of things right, and some of them wrong, but it also missed a few KEY things while predicting the future… The Internet Mobile Phones People Would Still Be Reading Newspapers! The theme song was written by…
So What’s a Hashtag?
When I was a kid, has was something we had at breakfast (with potatoes and corned beef). As a teen, it was something (I heard about 😎) that people put in pipes and smoked. Today, a hashtag is an integral part of many social media systems.
A hashtag is a type of metadata tag used on social networks like Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and others. They allow you to apply a dynamic and widely used tool (in some cases) that makes it possible for others to easily search and find messages with a specific theme or content.
Hashtags have different clout and influence on difference social media platforms:

Vlad founded two non-profits at the age of 16, then dropped out of college, moved to another country with two 2 his friends, built Planable (Techstars London ’17) at 19 y.o and became an honoree Forbes 30 Under 30 at 22 y.o. Would you take a flight knowing that it was ONLY running on autopilot? Why would you try to do that with your social media posts? Ever platform has a different audience, but more importantly, a different ecosystem for posts. They vary in picture size, text amounts, hashtags or no hashtags, and more!
I use Canva.com (both the free and paid for versions) to create stunning (scroll stopping) graphics. The paid for version lets you resize and reuse your designs.
Graphics are the key to getting attention, but often the meat (BACON) of the message is in the text. Limits range from 280-2000 characters (not words). How you format and use that limited messaging resource is paramount to the effectiveness of your messaging!
In this episode, I will discuss how to maximize Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest (and touch on Instagram). I wall also give you three DO & DON’T tips to help you get the most out of your social media posts!

People often treat marketing like the lottery… All you need to do is SCRATCH & WIN! That was easy? But in reality, if you just play the lottery, you will ultimately loose more than you win. The games are designed not to make you rich, but to make money for the lottery or gambling organization. Few get lucky, so may try and fail.
There are those rare occasions where people figure out a strategy to legally beat the system. Marketing is a lot like the lottery. Once you figure out the formula, you can start to make more money than you spend (a profit). But, there are some basic things that people miss or try to skip over to claim their winnings that hinder their success:

Building a tribe is one of the hardest and long-term games in marketing your business. A tribe is a group of people who have a passion, purpose, and payout when your brand is involved. Here is the definition of these terms…
Passion – an intense desire or enthusiasm for something
Purpose – a person’s sense of resolve or determination
Payoff – a final outcome; a conclusion
In this episode, we will discuss how I turned my passion for my dog into a growing and engaging Facebook group that integrates experts and dog owners around holistic methods to promote dog health. Although there is a component of selling products, that is the long-term game and not the immediate results! Patience will have a payoff!
Social Media (in my humble opinion) is three things in this order… A Relationship Building Tool 1st, A Content Delivery Platform 2nd, A Sales Platform 3rd. If all you do is sell, then people will tune you out as noise. You have to create engagement and interaction. Engagement earns you the opportunity to post promotional content in the form of informational blogs or podcasts.
In this episode, we will discuss the parts of social media:
Calls To Action
And the main business social platforms of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, and Instagram.
